These delicious battered pork slices are the perfect accompaniment to many oriental meals. What's better is how easy they are to make too, using just a few simple ingredients you're likely to have in your kitchen right now. They'll be ready in just 15 minutes if you're quick too. So anyway without further ado let's get on with the recipe!

INGREDIENTS
pork steaks (thin)
1/2 cup of almond flour
1/2 cup of plain flour
1/4 cup of sesame seeds
1x heaped tsp of corn flour
1x tsp of salt
1x heaped tsp of ground ginger
3x large garlic cloves (crushed and finely diced)
2x eggs (whisked)
oil of your choice
METHOD
Start by adding the flours, sesame seeds, salt, corn flour, garlic and ginger to a large mixing bowl and mix together well.
Add the whisked eggs to a bowl.
Dip your pork steak into the egg bath and then into the flour mixture (make sure your pork is fully coated) and then place onto a plate.
Repeat until all of the steaks have been covered.
Add approx 1/2cm of your cooking oil to a large heavy bottom pan and heat on a high heat (the oil is ready when you drop a little bit of the batter into the oil and it sizzles and floats to the top).
(You'll most likely have to cook in 2 batches)
Add roughly 4 - 5 pork steaks to the pan (depending on how many you have) and cook them for 4 minutes on each side (I always use a timer).
When finished, transfer them to a plate whilst you cook your next batch.
Serve with your favourite dipping sauce and enjoy!
(We like to serve ours with stir fried vegetables, noodles and a sweet chilli sauce, but they're also perfect as a snack by themselves, or as a side).
