Delicious, warming and comforting!
This homemade blend of black tea and spices is a real delight, and a must, to keep on your shelf through the autumn and winter months.
This has recently become our favourite morning and evening hot drink. The aroma and taste is delightful.
We decided to make this tea blend for two reasons;
A big reason to make this at home was to save MONEY! It definitely is not cheap to grab a coffee or tea from your favourite coffee shop anymore. It's reached near on £5 per drink, and when you take the whole family with you, you're looking at around £30, especially if you grab a cookie too!!! CRAZY! Definitely more important things we would like to be spending our money on.
The second reason we decided to make this at home was simple - It's delicious!
The tea blend takes just a few minutes to combine together, and once done, just store it in a glass jar, and it's ready to use whenever you fancy it.
The spices can differ from recipe to recipe, and can easily be tinkered with to suit your taste. We use a blend of warming herbs;
Cinnamon
Ginger
Cloves
Cardamon
Nutmeg
In our opinion it smells like Christmas in a cup, minus the vanilla...
We can't always purchase loose black tea leaves in our supermarket, and so, we simply use our favourite black tea teabags. We snip them open, and empty out the tea leaves - easy!
For a little bit of added sweetness we like to use honey. However, you could use any sweetener you like. If you use sugar, you could add some to your chai masala latte powder mix.
This is a latte drink mix, which means you will need milk to make this drink. Dairy or non dairy milk is absolutely fine - whichever you prefer.
If we're feeling extra fancy then we will top it with some frothy milk, either way, we will always top it with a light dusting of cinnamon - delicious!
Let's crack on with this delicious and easy, chai masala latte powder mix - cheers!
