Easy Mango Mousse - Gelatine & Egg Free

Updated: Apr 15

This delicious super quick and easy mousse is so good and is made using only 3 ingredients and NO gelatine or egg is required.

This fabulous dessert is also ready to eat in just 3 hours once prepared...

Simply whisk the double cream, sweet condensed milk and mango puree add to your serving bowls and set in the fridge for 3 hours - its as simple as that!

A traditional mousse calls for egg whites. It's the egg whites that create the fluffy air bubbles in a traditional mousse. However if you can't have eggs or like me you're a little dubious about eating raw egg then this is the recipe for you...

This mango mousse is super light, creamy, silky-smooth, refreshing and is a perfect dessert after a heavy meal or on a summers evening - so fresh and fruity...

We love this recipe because its fuss-free, quick and versatile AND we love the fact that there is no gelatine and it just sets quickly in the fridge...

So if you're looking for a quick, simple and fuss free dessert, then this mango mousse is PERFECT for you...It's also a fantastic dessert for meal-prep, as long as the cream is super fresh and in date. Just store in an airtight glass container in the fridge.

We added mango to this mousse, however you could puree any fruit you like and add to it such as, passion fruit, strawberries or raspberries etc.

We absolutely LOVED this light and fruity dessert and we really hope you do too - On with the recipe.

Happy Baking!

INGREDIENTS

Makes 4 large bowls or 8 smaller bowls

  • 2x cups of double cream

  • 1x cup of sweetened condensed milk

  • 1x cup of pureed fresh mango pulp - plus extra for topping ( approx 1 large ripe mango )

  • Chocolate shavings for topping - optional

METHOD

Add the cream to a bowl and whisk together in a freestanding mixer and whisk until soft smooth peaks form - be careful not to over whisk otherwise you will end up with butter. Keep a watchful eye.

Once the cream has formed soft peaks add the condensed milk and whisk for just a few seconds until evenly combined.

Add 1 cup of the mango puree and fold through the mixture evenly using a spatula.

Transfer the mixture to your serving dishes and let set in the fridge for at least 3 hours.

When you're ready to serve drizzle some of the mango puree over the top - serve and Enjoy!

We also like to add some chocolate shavings to the top of each mousse, but top with whatever you fancy...
