Flaxseed Egg

This 2 ingredient recipe is a must know when creating vegan and egg free recipes.

It is a great emulsifier in baked goods and will help the structure - just like eggs.


Flaxseed, aka Linseed is high in unsaturated fats, protein, iron, phosphorus, and the B vitamin niacin. Flaxseed is a good source of soluble fibre and also contains lignans, which are chemical compounds that carry antioxidants and enzymes that are said to have many health benefits.


Flaxseed eggs are quick to make and is an essential recipe to learn when on a vegan diet.


Per 1 egg the ratio is; 1 tbsp of flaxseed to 3 tbsp of water.

INGREDIENTS

per 1 egg


  • 1 tbsp of flaxseed

  • 3 tbsp of water


METHOD


In a small bowl add the flaxseed and water and mix together until combined.

Leave for 2 minutes and then it's ready to be used in your recipe.


If a recipe calls for 2 eggs then simply double the flaxseed egg recipe etc
