The Healthiest & Quickest Chocolate Dessert Ever - (Gluten-free & Grain-free)

Looking for a perfect, refreshing, comforting, healthy dessert that has only 3 base ingredients? Well this super easy to make chocolate mousse is all that and more! Regular shop bought mousses often use gelatin or cornstarch to thicken them, but this doesn't need either of them. It gets its ultra smooth and creamy texture from the avacados and yoghurt and is naturally sweetened with honey. We usually make up this recipe when it's hot and sunny, or if we've got some guests coming over unexpectedly and need to make up something fancy in a hurry. It looks perfect topped with a few mint leaves and some raspberries, but you can customise it in a variety of ways.

We sometimes like to have it with some crushed walnuts and a sprinkling of dessicated coconut or crushed pistachios & lemon zest. It's surprising just how healthy it is when it seems so unhealthy! Avocados are full of healthy fats and potassium and yoghurt is full of bone enhancing calcium and probiotics for your good gut bacteria. Anyway without further ado, let's get on with this amazing recipe!

INGREDIENTS

Makes 4 servings


  • 1x ripe XL Quintal Avocado or 3-4 regular Avocados

  • 1x cup of Thick Natural Yoghurt

  • 3x heaped tbsp of Unsweetened Cacau Powder

  • 2x heaped tbsp of Honey or Maple syrup

  • 1x tsp of Vanilla Extract (optional)


Toppings - optional (Top with whatever you fancy or leave plain)


  • Sprinkling of crushed Walnuts

  • Sprinkling of Dessicated Coconut

  • Cubed Mangos

  • Mint Leaves


METHOD


Simply add all of the ingredients excluding the toppings to a blender or large jug and blitz with a hand blender until smooth and creamy.

Divide into your serving dishes and serve immediately or pop them into the fridge until ready to eat.

Before serving top with your desired toppings if you wish or just enjoy plain. Either way is delicious.
